Family Coach

North HollandOn site36 hours/week<3months

Behind every front door lies a story. Sometimes full of love and hope, sometimes overshadowed by worries, stress, and complex problems. In families, children grow up in situations where an intellectual disability, psychological vulnerability, addiction, or debt dominate daily life. As a family coach, you step in where things get tense. You bring peace, structure, and perspective.

With your professional insight and warm approach, you help parents regain control of their family and give children the chance to grow up safely. This is work that matters.

What you will do. As a family coach, you literally and figuratively step into the lives of families where parenting is under pressure. Parents often want to, but cannot do it alone.

  • You help them break patterns, build trust, and regain control of their family.
  • You draw up a targeted treatment plan, together with a behavioral scientist, to work step-by-step towards a safe, stable, and as independent a home situation as possible for the children.
  • You coach parents in their parenting skills and help them create structure and calm in daily life: from going to school on time to a tidy home, from healthy meals to dealing with stress, anger, and administration.
  • You are the connecting link with other professionals surrounding the family.
  • You have a strong voice in consultations and decision-making, because you truly know the family.
  • You guide and treat families at home according to a personal treatment plan (IAG), in close collaboration with the behavioral scientist.
  • You coach and motivate parents to address parenting and behavioral problems sustainably.
  • You maintain intensive contact with chain partners such as youth care, mental health services, schools, and general practitioners.
  • You monitor overview, progress, and documentation within your own caseload and the team.

Profile

  • Preferably, you have a post-HBO diploma in Intensive Ambulatory Family Treatment (IAG) or are willing to obtain it.
  • You have several years of experience with ambulatory assistance within families.
  • You have relevant work experience with complex family situations involving severe multiple problems.
  • You are SKJ-registered and possess a valid Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG).
  • You are a Christian and can articulate what this means to you.
