Governance Manager

The Governance Advisory team is diverse and supports the board and management of a government organization.

• The team is divided into clusters, including governance advisors, public affairs, cabinet, board secretariats, and the entire flow of governance documents.
• The activities take place at the intersection of governance and organization, which makes the work dynamic.
• An important task is to build the development of this new team and the continuous development of the entire department.

What you will do.

• You are the linchpin, the point of contact, the connector, and, where necessary, the buffer between the board, the administrative organization, and employees.
• You ensure calm, overview, and clear lines, so that the board can rely on professional and reliable support.
• As a team manager, you provide leadership and monitor both the quality and quantity of the activities.
• You conduct regular work meetings with the clusters and employees.
• You ensure that the work of the clusters and employees aligns with the requirements of the board and the organization.
• You identify developments and bottlenecks in implementation, analyze them, and consult with stakeholders.
• Where necessary, you develop improvement proposals and anticipate future developments.
• You maintain active working contacts with the board and the administrative organization to ensure optimal connection of teams to the board's playing field.
• Together with other managers, you work on the continuous development of the department and the connection between the team and the organization as a whole.

What they ask

• Minimum of a demonstrable completed HBO bachelor's degree (higher professional education).
• Minimum of 2 years of demonstrable work experience as a team manager within a government organization.

Wishes.

• Minimum of 2 years of demonstrable work experience as a manager at a municipality with teams combining multiple disciplines.
• Demonstrable work experience in the past 6 years as a team manager in the field of Board and management support.
• Demonstrable work experience with at least 2 change management assignments.
