As a software developer, you will work daily with a DevOps mindset on a specific application for law enforcement, which is used for safety within a government organization.
What you do
- Translate user stories into technical solutions
- Realize technical and functional improvements to the application
- Work independently on the implementation of assigned tasks
- Coordinate with colleagues within the multidisciplinary scrum team on design choices, dependencies
- Design, manage, and further develop front-end and/or back-end of registration systems
- Develop and implement changes in the database
- (Further) develop the Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery process (e.g., Jenkins)
- Develop and deliver business value in sprints
- Participate in an on-call roster for management and implementation
The work environment. Within the production house, about a hundred DevOps teams build and maintain information systems for a government organization. You will work in a DevOps team within the Law Enforcement product line. Knowledge and experience sharing are central. The main task is to build, maintain, and manage a web application and the underlying middleware and supporting systems (APIs). Work is carried out according to the Agile methodology with prioritization from the product backlog.
The teams combine working from home partly with working at a service center. The teams work on, among other things:
- A specific application for law enforcement used by basic police services to draw up official reports of incidents, arrests, interrogations, traffic accidents, and seized goods.
- A data linking platform that enables the efficient and secure exchange of data from various applications using RESTful APIs and Event Driven Architecture solutions, with a focus on data standardization and interoperability between systems.
- An unlocking service that makes data from registration systems within the law enforcement application accessible to other services within the organization.
Profile
- HBO (bachelor) work and thinking level, preferably based on an IT education
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the last 5 years with JAVA, Angular, and SQL and with Jenkins
- Experience with unit testing and preferably with test automation and the security aspects of software
- Preferably work experience in CI/CD Pipelines and with an Agile methodology, such as Scrum
- Insight into systems such as ArgoCD, AMOS openshift, Weblogic, and XL Deploy
- Work experience with version control such as GIT
- Experience with Linux
- Certification and/or minimum 3 years of work experience in the last 5 years with containers (e.g., Podman or Docker)
- Good command of the Dutch language, both written and spoken
- You can devise and implement smart IT adjustments within a complex environment
- You give and receive feedback well and quickly acquire new knowledge
- You are focused on collaboration and take the lead in coordinating the team
- You do not shy away from challenges and enjoy thinking about innovative solutions
- You have extensive experience in ensuring the continuity and quality of software development
- You are aware of your skills and actively work on expanding your expertise
