An organization is looking for a residential counselor for young people aged 16 to 21 who have fled and arrive in the Netherlands without parents or family. The goal is to offer them a safe place and support them in building a new life and participating in society. This is done from various residential locations.
What you will do.
- Ensure a pleasant atmosphere and good guidance at the residential locations.
- Help young people build their lives in the Netherlands with a positive attitude.
- Collaborate with a self-organizing team.
- Provide ambulatory guidance to young people who are living independently for the first time and need support.
- Turn challenges into opportunities.
What they ask
- Proficiency in Dutch, both spoken and written.
- An MBO 4 diploma with a pedagogical background.
- Knowledge of other languages such as Dari, Arabic, or Tigrinya is a valuable asset.
Practical
- A VOG (Certificate of Good Conduct) screening is part of the selection procedure.
- The organization strives for a staff composition that reflects the diversity of the young people and families it guides.
