Design and calculate complex steel structures for high-voltage lines within energy technology and energy transition. You will translate technical input into substantiated design and detailed calculations, workshop drawings, and specifications. With FEM analyses and 2D/3D modeling in AutoCAD and modern 3D software, you will ensure structural safety. You will work on projects where energy transport and storage are central, identify bottlenecks early, and integrally improve designs.
You will work for a large technical service provider in the Netherlands, active in energy, industry, and infrastructure. Within the High-Voltage Lines business unit, you will work on projects that directly contribute to the energy transition, focusing on the high-voltage grid around energy transport and storage. The organization combines years of experience in mechanical engineering and steel construction with a strong focus on a future-proof energy mix.
You will work in multidisciplinary project teams in energy technology, where engineering, execution, and structural specialists collaborate intensively on safe, maintenance-friendly steel structures. Work is done with AutoCAD 2D and 3D software such as SolidWorks, Solid Edge, and Revit, supplemented with FEM analyses and design according to NEN and ISO standards.
What you do
- Drawing and modeling steel structures for high-voltage lines in 2D and 3D with a focus on quality, detail, and applicability within energy transition and mechanical engineering
- Preparing independent design and detailed calculations and performing content checks
- Advising on technical solutions for engineering and execution within energy technology projects
- Collecting technical input and translating it into clear specifications and workshop drawings for steel constructions
- Identifying structural and technical bottlenecks at an early stage and integrally contributing to improvements
- Ensuring coordination with internal project teams and external stakeholders throughout the entire process
What they ask
- Completed MBO or HBO education in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Experience as a structural engineer or draftsman in steel construction, preferably in high-voltage projects
- Experience with AutoCAD 2D and preferably with 3D software such as SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Revit or similar
- Familiarity with NEN and ISO standards, design regulations, and computational issues
- Good command of both Dutch and English, both written and spoken
- Structured and accurate work, able to substantiate technical choices well
- Strong analytical skills and able to communicate clearly with all levels in a project team
- Showing initiative and accustomed to working independently on technical depth in steel structures, energy technology, and energy transition
