EU Funds Project Leader

An audit service of a government organization controls financial flows from a European institution to member states.
- This role contributes to an effective European Union and the development of the country and Europe.
- The position is versatile, challenging, and educational, involving diverse projects and organizations.
What you will do.
- As a (sub-)project leader, you provide assurance to a European institution regarding:
- The adequacy of the management control system of implementing organizations.
- The correctness, purposefulness, and legality of declared expenditures by grant recipients.
- A true and fair view of the financial statements of implementing organizations.
- The extent to which implementing organizations are in control.
- You conduct controls and investigations at implementing organizations and grant recipients, including financial audits, IT audits, performance audits, operational, and compliance auditing.
- You are responsible for auditing projects with a wide diversity of themes.
- You are co-responsible for auditing management and control systems, with focus areas including:
- The approach to fraud.
- The improvement of the IT environment.
- The effectiveness and efficiency of subsidy processes.
- You motivate and guide your audit team substantively on:
- Analyses, including performing data analyses, and assessing declared costs and subsidy applications.
- Identifying and formulating findings.
- Building the factual complex.
- You stay informed of new laws and regulations from a European institution that impact normative frameworks and jurisprudence.
- You contribute to the further development of the EU sector by innovating audit approaches, providing in-house training, and facilitating knowledge sharing.
- You are the point of contact for both grant providers and implementing organizations, and for contacts from a European institution.
- You review the work performed as a project leader.
What they ask
- Minimum post-master's degree in accountancy obtained and practical training to become a Registered Accountant (RA) (almost) completed.
- Minimum of five years of current experience in financial control.
- Experience in managing and/or guiding (small) teams.
- Knowledge of accountancy regulations and developments in the field.
