You will make a crucial contribution to the detection of child sexual abuse within a government organization. The digital component in investigative research is significant, with anonymous users, encryption, and the dark web being common. The latest digital investigation methods and techniques are used, and innovative solutions are conceived and developed.
What you will do.
- Proactively perform digital investigative actions and draw up official reports.
- Analyze intercepted internet traffic.
- Investigate seized data carriers.
- Structure and make searchable large quantities of secured data.
- Act as an important link between the team and collaboration partners, such as specialized digital teams.
- Participate in searches of homes or data centers for data recording and/or seizure, including proactive thinking about the best approach.
- Be the point of contact for colleagues regarding digital investigations.
- Transfer knowledge and experience to make team members more digitally skilled and independent.
- Be alert to relevant trends, developments, and opportunities, and translate these insights into concrete applications and ideas for investigative practice.

What they ask
- HBO (bachelor) working and thinking level or equivalent via EVC, or at least two years of work experience at the required level.
- Demonstrable affinity with computer technology, cybercrime, and IT.
- Good spoken and written proficiency in the English language.
Practical
- A 14-week training course for specific deployment at a training institute, possibly followed by an additional training program required for the position.
- Successfully completing a mandatory assessment is a prerequisite for starting the training.
- Completing the training is a requirement to perform this function.
- Temporary appointment as a civil servant in training, followed by a temporary appointment with a one-year probationary period, after which a permanent appointment will follow.
- The selection procedure includes a reliability and environmental investigation (BO+), a mental resilience test, and possibly a reference check.
