Do you find it challenging to work short-term and intensively within a family to create a safe living environment for children? Are you able to quickly and accurately analyze complex situations? Are you willing to work irregular hours while being able to maintain your own boundaries? Then join a crisis shelter as a mobile support worker and work with the young people placed there and their families.
What you will do.
- Analyze the crisis and assess the safety of the youth.
- Provide assistance in crisis situations and enhance family safety.
- Handle initial reception and engage in discussions with parents and the youth.
- Utilize the most appropriate methodology, such as mobile emergency assistance.
- Develop a safety plan and risk assessment in collaboration with the case manager.
- Map the network, structure, and activate the family and social network to restore safety.
- Analyze the support request and provide advice.
- Establish goals with the youth and parents, involving internal and external experts.
- Offer intensive guidance with a small caseload, ensuring frequent presence with the family.
- Enhance the problem-solving capacity of family members, thereby restoring family autonomy.
Profile
- The team consists of approximately 12 colleagues.
- A behavioral scientist is affiliated with the team for discussing (joint) case studies.
- The team fosters an open atmosphere, collegial consultation, and a broad view of society.
- The aim is to find solutions within the family's own network, ensuring quick availability and flexible deployment.
- You will form a team with other linked mobile crisis support workers.
- You will work closely with the network, parents, a behavioral scientist, the area manager, and youth care workers.
- You possess a helicopter view, are analytical, familiar with crisis situations, have knowledge of mental health issues, and extensive experience within the youth domain.
- The crisis shelter provides 24/7 care for children and adolescents aged 12 to 18 who have entered a crisis situation due to various causes.
- The assistance focuses on clarifying individual problems, providing stability in the living situation, and advising on future prospects.
What they ask
- HBO diploma (Social Work, MWD, SPH, or Pedagogy).
- SKJ-registered.
- Preferably several years of experience in (mobile) youth care, and preferably also with LVB (light intellectual disability) issues or psychiatry.
- Knowledge and insight into the range of support services and intervention methodologies.
- Flexibility is required for immediate crisis initiation, including appointments with families during weekends and evenings.
