Boarding Agent Operator

This role involves an operational function within a department responsible for the clearance of vessels. The department manages all operational and administrative aspects for incoming and outgoing ships, relieving various shipping companies and clients. The team consists of approximately 80 colleagues spread across multiple locations.

What you will do.

• Handling various types of vessels in a 24/7 shift environment.
• Processing documentation related to vessel clearance.
• Coordinating with terminals/shippers regarding berth availability, liaising with port authorities and involved companies regarding vessel arrivals and departures.
• Ordering pilots/tugboat services and boatmen for vessel arrivals/departures.
• Preparing cargo documents, customs forms, and immigration papers.
• Coordinating third-party services, such as fuel and provisions delivery.
• Providing requested services to captains and/or principals requesting service.
• Reporting to principals and cargo stakeholders, either from the office, directly to parties, or from the vessel via a colleague.
• Independently managing vessel port calls.

What they ask

• A relevant MBO-3 or MBO-4 level education (e.g., Port Logistics Management).
• A plus if you have several years of work experience as a water clerk/boarding officer or if you have work experience in ship agency, maritime industry (or transport/logistics).
• Driver's license B.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch and English.
