Within a cluster of a public executive organization, Microsoft Dynamics Customer Engagement (CE) is used for critical processes related to work and income. As a Test Engineer, you play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of these systems, so that employees and customers are optimally supported. You act as the collaborating test coordinator in a DevOps team and are responsible for planning, preparing, executing, and documenting functional and technical tests within the Microsoft Dynamics CE platform.
You work closely with business analysts, functional administrators, and developers to successfully implement new functionalities, changes, and integrations, and you involve the business in testing these.
What you will do. Test planning / test preparation:
- Actively participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives within an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Provide input for requirements/specifications for the product to be developed.
- Provide input for risk analyses, substantiate them, and discuss them with relevant team members.
- Create the test plan (overall and per sprint).
- Translate user stories into logical and physical test cases.
- Draft test specifications and review specifications from others.
- Create test scripts for both automated and manual tests.
- Determine, together with the test automation engineer, which tests are suitable for test automation and when this can be addressed.
Test execution:
- Perform functional, regression, and integration tests.
- Guide users during user acceptance tests.
- Be responsible for coordinating, preparing, and executing cross-team tests.
- Execute test scripts.
- Determine if the quality of the product in relation to the requirements is sufficient from the tester's perspective to put it into production and advise the team on this.
- Provide input for customer demos.
- Identify, control, analyze, investigate, and document test results, bugs, and deviations.
- Maintain test results, reports, and test documentation according to internal standards.
Quality assurance:
- Ensure a structured test process and contribute to continuous improvement of the testing approach.
- Maintain the various tests.
- Provide solicited and unsolicited input for quality improvement in the development process.
- Share current and new developments and solutions within the field with colleagues.
- Identify improvements in processes and procedures within your own area of focus.
What they ask
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Test Engineer.
- Experience with testing workflows, business rules, and integrations.
- Solid experience with testing different types and categories of tests.
- Solid knowledge and experience of test methodologies (ISTQB is a plus) and working in an Agile / Scrum environment.
- Solid experience with test tools to record test cases and test results (Azure DevOps is a plus).
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience communicating test results to various stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with an eye for detail and quality.
- Ability to perform tasks proactively and independently.
- Good command of the Dutch language, both written and spoken.
- Knowledge of the public sector is a plus.
- Specific knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Customer Engagement (CE) is a plus.
- Experience with automated testing using Robot Framework is a plus.
