In close collaboration with colleagues and external experts, you will perform the following tasks:

• Analyzing the macro and microeconomic consequences of climate change, particularly those related to physical damage.
• Estimating losses/damages and necessary adaptation investments based on data provided by experts specialized in climate, environmental, or other relevant scientific domains.
• Providing estimates of the costs of these climate effects for public finances, with a level of detail tailored to the sector or theme studied.
• Supporting the implementation of European obligations in this area by integrating these activities.
• Closely monitoring debates, scientific developments, and the work of international organizations concerning the macro-budgetary costs of climate change.

You hold a university degree in economics (master's or doctorate) or a degree with a strong economic component, possibly supplemented by other relevant training for the position, and you have a maximum of five years of professional experience. Preference will be given to candidates who, through their studies or professional life, can demonstrate skills, experience, or interest in the following areas:

• Evaluation of the economic consequences of the physical risks of climate change.
• Macroeconomic and budgetary analyses.
• Knowledge of the institutional structure of a country and the distribution of powers between different levels of government.
• Knowledge of European regulations regarding the reporting of macro-budgetary risks resulting from climate change.
• Knowledge of database management and quantitative analysis methods.
• Ability to analyze scientific literature in the fields of economics, climate, and environment.

You are eager to learn, autonomous, and persistent, and you can navigate a new field and an evolving institutional context. You show initiative and enjoy collaborating with experts from diverse fields. You have a thorough knowledge of one of the national languages and sufficient knowledge of the other national language to work in a bilingual environment.
