Information Management Manager

This role offers the opportunity to make a crucial contribution to secure and efficient information provision within a dynamic, operational organization. The activities are carried out within the staff of a motorized combat unit, focused on striking power and speed.

The department is the central player for everything related to information provision, system management, and data, ensuring that systems work, data is secure, and users are optimally supported, both in peacetime and during operational deployments and exercises.

What you do

In this versatile role, you advise and support line management and employees in the field of information management. You act as a link between policy and daily execution. You work closely with various units and are involved in deployments both domestically and abroad. Your tasks include:

  • Policy & Advice: You translate policies, frameworks, standards, and laws and regulations into workable processes for the unit and advise on lifecycle choices and the priority of new needs.
  • Analysis & Implementation: You collect and analyze processes and information needs and draw up operational IM/IB plans, which you then independently implement within (sub)units.
  • I&T Domain Optimization: You analyze organizational issues, formulate improvement proposals, and present alternative solutions to optimize the use of systems and processes.
  • Direction & Accountability: You handle functional information requests, coordinate with functional management, and report directly to the staff on the realization of policies and products.

What they ask

  • A completed HBO education (informatics / ICT), with a specialization in information management or information governance.
  • Relevant experience within a government organization in the field of information management, information governance, and/or business operations.
  • Demonstrable work experience in a role where advising management was a main component.
  • You possess specialized knowledge regarding information, laws and regulations, and content to co-create complex annual plans (level 3).
  • Excellent analytical skills and systems thinking: you understand chain dependencies and reduce complex information to an understandable core.
  • Strong advisory skills, administrative sensitivity, and a high degree of ownership and learning ability.
  • You are willing to undergo a security screening at VGB-B level.

Practical

  • A security screening (VGB) is part of the application process.
  • Dutch nationality is required for civilian applicants.
  • Providing a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) is a condition for appointment.
  • A background check may be part of the selection procedure and takes an average of 8 weeks.
