Project Controller

As a project controller, you collaborate with colleagues to ensure proper management of projects and funds.

You will work for the Finance & Control department and for a specific theme within an academic medical center.
The project control and administration team aims to be a business partner and contributes to sound business operations.
You will manage the project portfolio of one or more departments together with a project administrator.
Support for all types of research, from grant application to financial management of medical-scientific research.

What you do

Advising project leaders on applying for new grants, including project budgets.
Ensuring risk inventory and risk reduction regarding the financial aspects of research projects, including advice and control.
Providing and analyzing management information, both at department level and for individual project and working group leaders.
Contributing to monthly and quarterly reports for the theme in close collaboration with business controllers.
Preparing the annual budget for research projects.
Communicating with external parties, for example as lead partner with external partners; directly with grant providers and directly with accountants regarding grant statements.

Proactive and possesses strong analytical skills.
Precise and well-organized.
Able to work with structure and overview.
Contributes ideas to internal clients and contributes to departmental developments and results.
Completed financial education at HBO level or higher.
Quickly masters systems. MS Excel holds no secrets for you, and you can work with ERP systems.
Good command of Dutch and English.
Maintains overview and performs well in a dynamic work environment with many deadlines and ad-hoc tasks.
Can easily switch between different priorities.
Strong communicator.
Stress-resistant, works accurately, and monitors deadlines without losing sight of quality.
Organizationally sensitive and able to connect different interests.
Experience in project control, grant administration, research finance, or a similar financial role is a plus.
Experience with national and/or European grant schemes is a strong plus.
