The infrastructure of a public sector organization is undergoing significant development. Due to the organization's growth, the cloud team is expanding, leading to increasing challenges and tasks for the department. As a cloud engineer, you will support the cloud team in designing, building, and managing a secure, reliable, and cloud-agnostic platform. You will guide colleagues during the transformation to a hybrid and multi-cloud landscape.
You will ensure well-considered architectural and infrastructure choices and guarantee that the platform and underlying infrastructure are designed, implemented, and managed at the appropriate quality and security level. You will work closely with DevOps teams and act as a technical point of contact for new technologies. Security is always paramount.

- Design and implement cloud-agnostic landing zones and network architectures (hybrid and multi-cloud) with a focus on security, availability
- Standardize and automate infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform/OpenTofu/Bicep) and configuration management (e.g., Ansible); set up Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines
- Set up Identity & Access Management (federated identity, directory services, PKI) and harden workloads on Linux and Windows
- Implement monitoring, logging, and observability (metrics, logs, tracing, SIEM, compliance) and structurally improve reliability and MTTR
- Execute and organize incident, problem, and change processes; analyze disruptions, identify root causes, and ensure sustainable solutions
- Guide fellow engineers, foster continuous improvement and self-service; write clear documentation and user stories

Profiel
- HBO/WO (higher professional education/university) work and thinking level or comparable experience
- Extensive demonstrable work experience as a Cloud/Infrastructure Engineer in large and/or complex environments
- Demonstrable hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation (e.g., Terraform/OpenTofu/Bicep, Ansible, PowerShell/Bash/Python) and CI/CD
- Experience with container platforms (e.g., Kubernetes) and with hybrid and multi-cloud architectures
- Strong security skills (e.g., IAM, network segmentation, compliance) and consistent work according to security-by-design principles
