Air Emissions Researcher

East FlandersHybridHours negotiable<3months

Do you want to work as a researcher on one of the most current challenges within agriculture? And are you looking for a position where scientific research, practice, and policy directly converge? Then this vacancy is definitely for you! Within a research domain, a specialized group focuses on air emissions from livestock farming, such as ammonia, particulate matter, nitrous oxide, methane, CO₂, and odor.

The reduction of emissions is a particularly current research topic today: how can agricultural businesses further reduce their emissions and which techniques work in practice? To answer these questions, we develop and refine measurement methods, research and test sustainable agricultural techniques, and build calculation models for emission inventories. In this way, we build scientific knowledge that helps advance both agricultural practice and policy.

As a researcher, you will join a multidisciplinary team of researchers, research support staff, and technicians and work at the intersection of practice-oriented research and policy support. The group participates in Flemish and European research projects and reference tasks for a policy domain. The position offers an excellent entry into research work, allowing you to delve deeply into the subject matter, gradually build expertise, and take on increasing responsibility.

You will thus work on a socially relevant theme and contribute directly, through your research, to the sustainability of agriculture.
