Spatial Planner

• Translate societal developments, spatial policy, and administrative ambitions into feasible solutions.
• Assess spatial initiatives and advise on planning and policy issues.
• Contribute to the development of the physical living environment, considering spatial quality, feasibility, and the administrative context.
• Work on themes such as housing and area development, spatial planning and advisory, the Environmental Act (Omgevingswet), sustainability, mobility, and participation.
• Collaborate with disciplines such as urban planning, traffic, environment, sustainability, land affairs, and legal matters.
• Advise initiators, colleagues, management, and, where necessary, the administration.

What they ask

• HBO or university level of work and thinking.
• Completed education in Spatial Planning, Spatial Development, Social Geography, Public Administration, or a comparable field.
• Preferably at least 3 years of relevant work experience in spatial planning, spatial development, or spatial ordering.
• Experience with spatial issues, policy development, and/or spatial planning advice.
• Knowledge of relevant spatial laws and regulations, including the Environmental Act (Omgevingswet).
• Ability to weigh various spatial, societal, and administrative interests.
• Clear communication and persuasive advisory skills.
• Excellent command of the Dutch language, both verbally and in writing.

Preferences.

• Experience working within a public organization (municipality, province, environmental service).
• Experience with housing and area development.
• Experience with participation and consultation processes.
• Experience with sustainability or mobility.
• Experience with administrative decision-making processes.
• Experience with project-based work or project management.
