Youth Care Worker

• You guide young people who need extra support due to, for example, an intellectual or physical disability, developmental issues, or behavioral problems.
• You help them better understand the world around them and gradually gain more control over their own lives.
• You provide clear boundaries and predictability, or help with managing emotions, social contacts, or developing independence.
• You connect with the young person's level and perception of the world, focusing on what they *can* do and where opportunities lie.
• You act professionally when behavior becomes challenging or emotions run high, without losing contact.
• You work methodically, always keeping an eye on the person behind the behavior.
• You offer young people guidance and opportunities to discover, learn, and become stronger in life.

• You will work in an environment where no day is predictable and where your presence truly matters.
• You guide children and young people with diverse support needs, for example due to an intellectual or physical disability, developmental disorder, behavioral problems, or complex family situations.
• The work environment can vary: an outpatient team for support in their own environment, a residential setting for more intensive collaboration, or crisis shelter for quick adaptation.
• You collaborate with professionals who share knowledge, support each other, and constantly look at what a young person needs to progress.

What they ask

• A relevant education (minimum MBO 4 or HBO), such as Social Work, SPH, or Pedagogy.
• Demonstrable experience in youth care.
• A valid Certificate of Conduct (VOG), which will be reimbursed after your first service.
