A Business Development Manager is sought for an ambitious logistics player to further shape and expand import activities. You will be given the space, trust, and responsibility to build an import department, set up processes, and attract new clients. The import department is still under development, and operational activities are currently handled by one colleague. The search is for someone who can think strategically and also actively get involved operationally.
What you will do. You will play a key role by:
- Further developing and structuring the import department
- Identifying new business opportunities and converting them into concrete client relationships
- Following up on import files from A to Z where necessary
- Maintaining relationships with clients, agents, suppliers, and shipping companies
- Contributing to thinking about processes, workflows, and commercial strategies
- Actively contributing to the growth of the organization
- Investigating and developing potential cross-trade opportunities
- Laying the foundations for a larger import team in the long term
Profile
- Experience in forwarding, shipping, import, or international logistics
- Combines commercial flair with operational expertise
- Takes initiative and responsibility
- Hands-on mentality and not afraid to assist operationally
- Ambitious and eager to actively contribute to further growth
- Strong communication skills
- Works independently but also feels comfortable within a smaller team
- Experience with cross-trade activities is a strong asset
