You will be part of a pilot cluster within a public organization, where many policy disciplines converge in social and societal fields. This assignment falls within the Housing and Asylum team. As an advisor for newcomers, you have a challenging and varied role. You contribute to the design of newcomer education and coordinate daily activities for newcomer children after school. You are the point of contact for all issues concerning the reception, housing, support, and participation of newcomers.
What you do
- Strategically and operationally advise on the asylum task, including newcomer education, including drafting official and executive proposals, council letters, and guiding and processing subsidy applications.
- Identify changes and developments within newcomer education and translate them into concrete measures and agreements.
- Develop a practical vision on newcomer education, also in relation to housing, with attention to progression to further education.
- Be the first point of contact and sparring partner for questions about newcomer education.
- Play a connecting role within the organization and between the organization, reception locations, social organizations, and the education sector.
- Prepare (administrative) meetings and decision-making and ensure their planning, recording, and guidance.
- Be the account holder/contact person for international transition classes and language classes, and regional training centers.
- Respond quickly to acute situations and provide solutions for bottlenecks.

- Minimum HBO bachelor's degree.
- At least 3 years of demonstrable work experience as a policy advisor focused on newcomer education and refugee reception in a municipal environment.
- Experience and affinity with policy development and advice on this complex and dynamic dossier.
- Strong communication skills, environmentally sensitive, and a connector.
- Agreement with the stated secondment conditions.
