Debt Assistance Consultant

GelderlandHybrid32 hours/week<3months

As a Debt Assistance Consultant, you support residents with financial concerns. The activities range from light support (information and advice), stabilizing the financial situation (phase 1), to establishing and implementing a debt settlement scheme (phase 2). You strengthen the resident's (financial) self-reliance and are the first point of contact for a resident with a financial assistance request. In addition, you collaborate integrally with a social team when support from other areas of life is needed.

The focus is increasingly on coaching and supporting residents, with the ultimate goal of a stable, financially healthy, and independent situation.

A municipal organization is committed to implementing all legal regulations in the social domain and related tasks in the field of care and safety. The team for Existential Security and Integration executes the legal regulations related to Work, Income, Debt Assistance, and Integration. Within the social team, continuous efforts are made to improve the services offered to residents and the development of tasks. The Debt Assistance cluster consists of 5 Debt Assistance Consultants and a supporting colleague.

All professionals of the social team work from an office location.

Within the social team, the 'reversed test' methodology is used. This methodology provides professionals with a common language for decision-making in (complex) cases. The starting point is not the solution, but the desired effect/result. This methodology also aligns with the development of the Participation Act (in Balance), where the focus increasingly shifts from control to existential security and supporting residents based on trust.
