A local journalistic platform is looking for a driven editor/reporter to bring news from the region to its residents. You have a passion for local journalism and feel connected to the community.
What you will do. As an editor/reporter, you will work independently to collect and publish stories from the region. Your activities will include:
- Interviewing people by phone or on location and writing engaging articles
- Following (online) local politics and other regional developments
- Capturing newsworthy moments via photos and/or videos
- Attending events and reporting on location, sometimes in the evenings or on weekends
Profile
We are looking for someone who:
- Has an affinity for local journalism
- Experience with political reporting is a plus, but not a requirement
- Has a connection with journalism or communication
- Has or can build their own network within the community
- Has experience with photography or videography, or is willing to learn this
Practical
- An independent and varied role within a local journalistic platform
- Compensation will be determined in consultation and depends on your education and experience
