Placemaking Project Manager
This assignment concerns the large-scale transformation of a former industrial site into a high-density, mixed-use urban living and working area. Placemaking aims to bring the area to life even before definitive construction, to establish the area's identity, and to contribute to area development, an innovation district, and urban objectives for economy, culture, encounter, and quality of life.
An integrated project plan is in place, coherently organizing the program, spatial and planning elaboration, civil measures, marketing, communication, and participation.
What you will do. The assignment focuses on independently further developing and realizing this integrated approach and delivering the described products and results.
- Responsible for realizing placemaking results within agreed frameworks, planning, and budget.
- The assignment is executed in four result phases: initiation, definition, design, and implementation.
- Collaborate and coordinate with various municipal disciplines and external parties.
- Do not exercise hierarchical leadership over municipal employees.
- Report monthly on the progress of agreed results, products, milestones, planning, budget, and main risks.
- In case of deviations, submit a proposal for adjustment or decision-making to the client.
Results per phase:
- Phase 1: An updated integrated project plan, a recognizable and coherent overarching placemaking concept, an integrated planning, and an updated GROTICK analysis.
- Phase 2: A financial strategy, an administrative roadmap, a detailed stakeholder and participation strategy, a detailed marketing and communication strategy, and an updated integrated planning.
- Phase 3: Decision-ready implementation plans for an innovation park, a public attractor, and the remaining area programming.
- Phase 4: Realization and demonstrable delivery of the agreed placemaking interventions and a complete, transferable project file.
