Sales & Business Development Officer
As a Sales & Business Development Officer, you help grow the own revenues of a public organization. You build relationships with customers and partners, enhance the visibility of the facilities, and explore new opportunities for collaboration and income. You are energized by networking, move smoothly between commercial opportunities and the social mission of the organization. You understand what customers are looking for, translate that into feasible proposals, and ensure that ideas are effectively realized.
What you do
- You investigate new opportunities to generate income and convert creative ideas into concrete collaborations and projects.
- You monitor developments within the sector, identify opportunities for new formulas, and contribute to building a sustainable network of (commercial) partners.
- You participate in discussions on how to promote and make visible the room rental and event offerings.
- Together with the MarCom team, you work on campaigns, content, and actions that reach new customers and strengthen existing relationships.
- You monitor results, learn from the figures, and adjust where necessary.
- You represent the organization at relevant networking events and maintain contacts within the professional field.
- You actively seek out organizations, companies, and partners who wish to use the facilities. You establish new contacts, maintain existing relationships, and build lasting deals and partnerships.
- You manage the accounts of 'key stakeholders' and ensure their experience is optimal, from first contact to invoicing.
- You listen to customer feedback and translate it into concrete projects, coordinating with involved stakeholders.
- You develop proposals and ensure good alignment with colleagues responsible for production and events.
- If necessary, you also perform ad-hoc operational tasks during events or commercial activities.
Profile
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in sales, business development, account management, or a comparable commercial role.
- A natural networker and relationship builder: you easily make contact and close deals.
- Results-oriented and driven by targets, without losing sight of people and the organization.
- Works independently and structured, takes initiative, and maintains an overview.
- Vision on marketing and communication, understanding of target groups and channels, and affinity with (online) marketing and content.
- Feels at home in an entrepreneurial, public organization and shares its social mission.
- Willing to work evenings or weekends when activities or events require it.
