Legal officer objection and appeal social domain

• Handling objection and (higher) appeal letters and preliminary injunctions in the context of the Participation Act (Participatiewet), Social Support Act (Wmo), Youth Act (Jeugdwet), Decree on Assistance to the Self-Employed (Besluit bijstandverlening zelfstandigen), and temporary regulations.
• Representing the college in proceedings before the court and the Central Appeals Tribunal (CRvB).

• Professional knowledge: Possesses current and thorough knowledge of the General Administrative Law Act (Awb), Social Support Act (Wmo), Youth Act (Jeugdwet), and Participation Act (Participatiewet), including relevant current developments.
• Analytical ability: Is able to quickly grasp complex legal issues and dossiers, distinguish main from secondary issues, and arrive at a legally well-founded judgment.
• Goal-oriented: Works result-oriented, monitors the progress of dossiers, and handles matters within the applicable deadlines.
• Diligence: Works accurately and structured, pays attention to legal and procedural requirements, and carefully weighs relevant facts, circumstances, and interests.
• Persuasiveness: Can clearly and convincingly substantiate legal positions and explain them orally, including in discussions and when representing the college during proceedings before the court and the Central Appeals Tribunal.
• Written communication skills: Possesses excellent Dutch writing skills and can draft clear, legally correct, and well-motivated documents, including objection decisions and procedural documents.

• Demonstrable work experience in the past 5 years with Suite within a municipal organization.
• Demonstrable work experience representing a college before the court and/or CRvB.
• Demonstrable completed education at a minimum HBO bachelor level.
• Demonstrable work experience as a legal officer Participation Act at a government organization (5 years or more; 4 to 5 years; 3 to 4 years; up to 3 years).
• Demonstrable work experience in the past 8 years where the candidate was responsible for handling objection, appeal, and/or higher appeal letters within the social domain (5 years or more; 4 to 5 years; 3 to 4 years; up to 3 years).
• Demonstrable work experience with objection and appeal based on the Wmo and/or Jeugdwet (minimum 4 years demonstrable experience with both Wmo and Jeugdwet; minimum 2 years demonstrable experience with both Wmo and Jeugdwet; minimum 2 years demonstrable experience with one of both laws; no demonstrable work experience).

• The professional will be embedded in the relevant team and will work under the responsibility and direction of the client.
• The activities will be carried out according to the applicable working methods, agreements, and priorities.
• The professional will participate in regular work and team meetings and coordinate the execution of activities with the supervisor and colleagues within the team.
