As a communications advisor, you will advise at a strategic/tactical level and also be involved in the execution within a program. You will work independently within the program and collaborate with project leaders, the program advisor, colleagues from various departments, and involved administrators to set the course for communication on sensitive topics.
The major challenges a municipal organization faces regarding the reception and housing of refugees (reception of asylum seekers, Ukrainian refugees, and housing of status holders) have a significant impact on society. The organization aims to be transparent with its residents and involve them in this process. Collaboration with residents is sought where possible. A temporary vacancy has arisen within the Communication, Legal Affairs, and Security team. The Communication unit consists of 10 colleagues.
What you will do.
- Communication advice and execution of communication for the refugee program, including press relations.
- Further develop and implement the communication and participation approach for various parts of the relevant projects, together with the project group, administrative communications advisor, and administrators.
- Identify what is happening in society regarding refugee reception and proactively incorporate this into advice and execution.

- Demonstrable completed communication education at a minimum of HBO bachelor level.
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable work experience as a communications advisor at a government institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable work experience with initiating participation processes.
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable work experience with strategic environmental communication.
Preferences.
- Demonstrable work experience in the past 5 years as a communications advisor for a refugee assignment.
- Demonstrable work experience in the past 10 years as a communications advisor at a government institution.
- Demonstrable work experience in the past 10 years with initiating participation processes.
