What you do
As a sewer system manager, you are responsible for the effective management and maintenance of the sewer system, ensuring these assets are safe, functional, and future-proof. You work closely with an internal engineering firm and within the wastewater and water team, among others, with senior asset managers and sewer managers. The team is led by the wastewater and urban water program manager.
You are in contact with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal coordination between technology, finance, and users.
The activities include:
- Drawing up concrete implementation plans for short-term maintenance work.
- Providing input for the team's overall multi-year programming.
- Commissioning necessary repair and maintenance work based on inspections.
- Playing a proactive role in various improvements, such as solving incorrect connections and data-driven work.
- Organizing various fieldwork and measurements to improve data-driven work.
- Collaborating with colleagues from the engineering firm.
- Guiding external agencies in sewer system investigations.
Profile
- Completed HBO (higher professional education) degree in a relevant field (e.g., Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering).
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a sewer system manager.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations concerning sewerage and urban water.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
- Analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Experience in public space management and asset management.
- Familiar with the administrative, planning, and executive world of management and maintenance and related financial issues.
- A strong and reliable partner with natural persuasive power.
- Flexible attitude.
Practical
You will work in the Strategic Management team, which is part of the Management and Maintenance cluster. This cluster directs the management of properties in the physical living environment and delivers concrete products and services. The team consists of diverse (technical) professionals in a governmental environment. The team and its chain are constantly evolving, and you will help with further professionalization. Close cooperation is maintained with users, fellow clusters, chain partners, and contractors.
