This position involves providing daytime activities for clients with intellectual disabilities who require intensive to very intensive support. Clients have different developmental levels and range in age from 18 to 70 years. The day activity center consists of two teams and a total of nine groups, divided into two sections with different developmental ages (6-18 months and 18-36 months).
This vacancy is primarily focused on the section with the youngest developmental age, but may also offer opportunities for the other section. In addition to working at the day activity center, it is important that a client is occasionally started from home, which is called 'client-following work'.
What you do
As a supervisor, you offer meaningful daytime activities to clients.
- You maintain contact with the client's social network and with relevant agencies.
- You collaborate with colleagues, trainees, and interns.
- You prepare activities tailored to the client's needs.
- You are part of a multidisciplinary team.
- You participate in one of the team roles.
- You support personal supervisors in drawing up an activity program and care plans.
Profile
- You have a completed relevant education at a minimum of mbo level 3.
- An emotionally neutral attitude is the basis for contact with the client.
- Collaboration with your colleagues is based on safety, trust, and the willingness to learn from each other.
- Patience, orderliness, and progressive insight are naturally present.
- You can act creatively and solution-oriented in case of changes.
- You are familiar with clients with challenging behavior and know how to act and adapt your guidance style when necessary.
- You can reflect on your own actions and discuss them.
- You are able to tolerate and relativize the behavior of our clients.
- Following certain courses is a must, such as aggression prevention and management, BHV (emergency response), and medication.
