Project Engineer
From an initial customer request to the first products rolling off the production line: as a Project Engineer, you ensure that everything is technically, organizationally, and practically aligned. For an internationally oriented industrial environment, a Project Engineer is sought to guide projects from quotation to production, acting as the link between the customer and various internal departments.
You will work for various clients within the automotive and industrial sectors, combining technical insight with planning, follow-up, customer contact, and process improvement.
What you do
As a Project Engineer, you take on projects from the initial customer request. You assess what is technically, qualitatively, and logistically feasible and ensure that new projects are structured towards production. You will work closely with production, quality, tooling, purchasing, and logistics, but also maintain direct contact with the customer. You keep an overview, monitor agreements and deadlines, and ensure that everyone has the right information at the right time.
- Support the preparation and release of quotations.
- Assess customer requests from a technical, qualitative, and logistical perspective.
- Contribute to thinking about the technical feasibility of new requests.
- Coordinate the start-up of new projects and orders.
- Organize the purchase of parts, tooling, and other project-related necessities.
- Ensure correct processing of project data in the ERP system.
- Organize and lead internal multidisciplinary APQP meetings.
- Monitor deadlines and diligently follow up on actions.
- Coordinate collaboration between production, planning, quality, purchasing, tooling, and logistics.
- Guide the first production series and ensure a smooth transition to production.
- Monitor progress and adjust when necessary.
- Be an important point of contact for the customer throughout the entire project.
- Maintain direct contact with various stakeholders at the customer, including purchasing and R&D.
- Ensure that technical and project-related questions are correctly followed up.
- Build sustainable customer relationships while ensuring that agreements are feasible and clear internally.
- Analyze results based on post-calculations and translate insights into concrete improvement actions.
- Independently undertake smaller or larger improvement projects according to the Six Sigma DMAIC methodology.
- Actively seek ways to make processes more efficient, reliable, and better organized.
What they ask We are looking for a technically strong and structured profile that enjoys juggling multiple tasks simultaneously. You have:
- A Master's degree in Industrial Engineering Electromechanics or equivalent experience.
- Strong technical insight and interest in production environments.
- A structured and precise way of working.
- Strong communication skills and sufficient assertiveness to follow up on matters and monitor agreements.
- A proactive attitude and enjoy taking initiative.
- A commercial mindset, where technical feasibility and reliability always remain paramount.
- Excellent knowledge of Dutch with a good knowledge of English.
- Good knowledge of MS Office, including Excel and Outlook.
- You like to take responsibility, follow up on agreements, and ensure that projects progress.
