Agricultural Environmental Permit Officer

• Process and evaluate complex environmental permit applications from agricultural businesses.
• Assess the environmental impacts of new and modified business activities.
• Apply current environmental and spatial planning legislation within agricultural dossiers.
• Review and evaluate odor and particulate matter calculations.
• Assess issues related to nitrogen and sustainability within the agricultural sector.
• Identify which subject matter specialists need to be involved in a dossier.
• Evaluate and process specialist advice, for example, in the fields of soil and noise.
• Monitor the planning, quality, and progress of legal procedures.
• Advise local and provincial authorities on complex agricultural permit issues.
• Visit agricultural businesses to assess the situation on site.
• Coordinate with businesses, clients, legal experts, supervisors, and other involved parties.
• Perform four-eyes checks to ensure the substantive quality of permits.
• Participate in knowledge networks and professional consultations.
• Share knowledge and contribute to the team's professional development.

What they ask

• Completed relevant HBO (higher professional education) degree, preferably in Environmental Science.
• Several years of relevant work experience as an agricultural environmental permit officer or in a similar role.
• Up-to-date knowledge of environmental and spatial planning legislation.
• Experience with complex permit procedures within the agricultural sector.
• Familiarity with issues concerning nitrogen, odor, particulate matter, and the sustainability of agriculture.
• Ability to substantively assess and process specialist advice in dossiers.
• Experience within an environmental service, municipality, or province is a strong plus.
