Technology, customer contact, and smart solutions come together in this role. As a sales engineer, you are the link between the customer, sales, and engineering. You translate customer wishes into well-thought-out technical designs and sharp cost calculations. In doing so, you always look for the best technical and commercial solutions. You will have ample opportunity to develop further, and there are excellent growth opportunities towards a coordinating role within the department.

What you do

As a sales engineer, you design and calculate technical installations based on specifications and other reference documents. Subsequently, you prepare a cost estimate that aligns with the customer's demand. You are adept at understanding the customer's wishes and needs and propose options and alternatives to arrive at an optimal offer, carefully weighing what is technically and commercially feasible. You select materials and installation components and request quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.

You critically assess these to advise on the best choices based on cost, quality, and technical applicability. You also remain involved in the execution. You prepare the transfer document for execution and participate in work meetings relevant to the project. Finally, you are actively involved in project evaluation, where you contribute to improvements. You identify areas for improvement to enhance the quality of design, calculation, and customer satisfaction. Your main tasks include:

  • Translating customer requirements into technical calculations and descriptions
  • Creating calculations and quotations
  • Preparing sales budgets and quotation letters
  • Managing order processing, including order confirmation and project administration for small and medium-sized projects

Growth path. In due course, you can grow into the role of team coordinator, where you will also take on coordinating tasks within the department, contribute to the department's development, and become the point of contact for the sales organization.

Profile

You feel involved in projects, show initiative, and feel responsible for laying a solid foundation in projects. As a true team player, you easily interact with colleagues and external project partners. Of course, you don't have to know everything yourself, but you know when to involve which expertise and you cleverly utilize the knowledge around you. You are eager to learn and want to continue developing, both in your role and within the department.

Additionally, you are strongly analytical and decisive, which helps you make well-founded choices. You work independently and structured and can handle the hustle and bustle within a project well. Furthermore, we ask for:
