Advise, litigate, and contract on issues concerning the optimal use of our scarce space.
- Join a team that is at the forefront of area development and the application of legal AI.
What you will do.
- Take a central role at the intersection of litigation, advising, and contracting in a dynamic sector.
- Lead contract formation for large projects such as housing, energy, and infrastructure.
- Monitor legal quality and manage negotiations where necessary.
- Advise on public-private law issues, such as toleration obligations, pre-emption rights, and anterior agreements.
- Carefully align the interests of various parties.
- Advise clients such as (semi-)governmental bodies, energy companies, infrastructure companies, housing corporations, and project developers on the legal aspects of area development.
- Identify and analyze relevant developments in contracts and related regulations, such as the Environmental Act (Omgevingswet) and the upcoming Collective Heat Act (Wet collectieve warmte).
- Represent clients' interests in disputes arising from area development projects, with an emphasis on civil procedures concerning agreements.
- Actively contribute to the knowledge base of the team and parties active in area development.
- Help build a visible external profile through publications, annotations, lectures, teaching, and participation in working groups.
- Work closely with specialists in administrative law, real estate, and energy law.
Profile
- Completed professional training (BO).
- 4 to 10 years of relevant work experience as a lawyer or (partially) gained in a comparable field, such as with a government agency, project developer, or consultancy firm.
- Demonstrable experience with area development, preferably with a focus on the contractual side (e.g., cooperation, anterior, and development agreements).
- Knowledge and experience with contract law.
- Relevant knowledge of related laws and regulations such as the Environmental Act (Omgevingswet) and the (upcoming) Collective Heat Act (Wet collectieve warmte) is a plus.
- Experience with conducting procedures concerning contracts is a plus.
- Curious about the possibilities of legal AI and sees it as an opportunity, not a threat.
- Actively follows relevant developments in area development and translates them into practical advice for clients.
- Entrepreneurial mindset: not only strong in content but also actively contributes to team development and client portfolio growth.
- Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing.
- A true team player who inspires colleagues.
