Then become a valuable member of a multidisciplinary team within a care organization. As an occupational therapist, you will work at various child service center locations in a specific region.
These centers serve children aged 3 to 18 with intellectual disabilities and often also an autism spectrum disorder or other accompanying diagnoses. The children receive group treatment, and various interventions are applied to enhance their skills and self-reliance. The goal is for children to develop within their own possibilities and pace. Individual treatment and involvement in provisions are also part of the activities.
What you do
- You collaborate with the treatment team on the group.
- You are responsible for occupational therapy research and diagnostics.
- You provide occupational therapy advice to parents, supervisors, and/or the treatment team.
- You provide both group and individual treatment, according to EEE.
- You address support needs such as:
- Working on body posture and body awareness.
- Increasing self-reliance.
- Stimulating (fine) motor skills.
- Advising on ZIV issues.
- Supporting or requesting aids.
- You work independently and devise creative solutions, often in collaboration with other disciplines (e.g., physiotherapist, speech therapist, orthopedagogue).
- You contribute to policy and knowledge development within healthcare and your own field.
- You participate in professional group meetings several times a year.
Profile
- Completed HBO degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Registered in the quality register for paramedics or meet the requirements for short-term registration.
- DTE certified.
- Experience working with children with intellectual disabilities and/or children with autism, or a strong interest in this target group.
- Training related to this target group is preferred (Sherborne, Geef me de vijf).
- Experience and training in Sensory Integration is a plus.
Practical
- Gross monthly salary of € 3,622 - € 5,304 based on 36 hours, according to the collective labor agreement for disabled care (FWG 55).
- One-year contract to replace maternity leave, with the possibility of a permanent contract afterwards.
