Storage, VMware & Windows Engineer

This assignment is for an experienced Storage, VMware & Windows Engineer to strengthen a critical, multi-technology infrastructure environment. The mission is strongly focused on advanced administration, troubleshooting, performance optimization, architecture, and N3 support. You will work on storage environments such as NetApp ONTAP, Dell PowerScale / Isilon, and Dell PowerStore, as well as on VMware vSphere, Windows Server, and Active Directory platforms.

You will also play a key role in infrastructure evolution projects, migrations, hardware refreshes, performance optimization, and continuous improvement.

What you will do.

  • Advanced administration of NetApp ONTAP arrays in NAS and SAN environments.
  • Manage SVMs, volumes, LUNs, snapshots, SnapMirror, and SnapVault.
  • Optimize performance via QoS, tiering, and FabricPool mechanisms.
  • Supervise capacity and plan future evolutions and expansions.
  • Analyze and resolve complex storage incidents.
  • Monitor performance, availability, and replication.
  • Administer Dell PowerScale / Isilon clusters under OneFS.
  • Configure and maintain SMB and NFS services.
  • Manage SmartPools, SmartConnect, and SnapshotIQ.
  • Participate in platform scaling: adding, replacing, and managing nodes.
  • Perform tuning and troubleshooting of clusters.
  • Optimize throughput for demanding workloads.
  • Analyze and resolve alerts and performance issues.
  • Administer Dell PowerStore X/T appliances.
  • Manage the provisioning of volumes, hosts, and access.
  • Ensure integration with VMware environments.
  • Supervise the performance of the appliances.
  • Participate in migrations and workload optimization.
  • Advanced administration of vCenter Server, ESXi, and HA/DRS clusters.
  • Create, optimize, and maintain VMFS, NFS, and vVOL datastores.
  • Configure virtual networks: Standard vSwitch, vDS, VLAN, and trunking.
  • Ensure lifecycle management of ESXi environments.
  • Manage images, drivers, and firmwares.
  • Participate in advanced troubleshooting of virtualized environments.
  • Optimize the performance and availability of VMware platforms.
  • Administer Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 environments.
  • Manage Active Directory environments.
  • Administer GPOs, replication, hardening, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Manage high availability mechanisms: Failover Clustering, DFS, and associated technologies.
  • Provide expert support for application servers.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting for I/O, CPU, memory, driver, and compatibility issues.
  • Automate recurring activities with PowerShell.
  • Master storage protocols SMB3, NFSv3/v4, iSCSI, and Fibre Channel.
  • Understand and administer network environments based on TCP/IP, VLAN, LACP, routing, ACL, and firewalling.
  • Participate in Datacenter connectivity management.
  • Understand ToR, Spine-Leaf architectures, and redundancy mechanisms.
  • Diagnose network issues related to storage: latency, drops, congestion, and performance.
  • Participate in architecture studies around storage, Windows Server, and virtualization.
  • Contribute to the definition of infrastructure standards.
  • Technically lead major projects such as migrations, platform evolutions, or hardware refreshes.
  • Perform capacity analyses and anticipate future needs.
  • Write and maintain technical documentation.
  • Produce DATD, DATG, technical procedures, and operational documents.
  • Provide N3 support during complex incidents impacting production.
  • Perform root cause analyses.
  • Identify recurring trends and propose preventive actions.
  • Automate tasks via PowerShell, Ansible, or NetApp / PowerScale APIs.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of infrastructures.
  • Conduct active technology watch and propose optimizations.

What they ask

  • Advanced expertise in NetApp ONTAP: administration, performance, and replication.
  • Solid experience with Dell PowerScale / Isilon: OneFS, SmartPools, and cluster management.
  • Experience with Dell PowerStore: block, file, and VMware integration.
  • Very good command of Windows Server 2016 to 2022.
  • Advanced command of PowerShell.
  • Solid experience with Active Directory, including GPO, hardening, and troubleshooting.
  • Expertise in storage protocols SMB, NFS, iSCSI, and Fibre Channel.
  • Solid experience with VMware vSphere.
  • Good network knowledge: TCP/IP, VLAN, LACP, and network security.

Desired.

  • Experience with monitoring solutions such as Centreon or Dynatrace.
  • Knowledge of backup solutions such as NetBackup.
  • Knowledge of Cisco SAN environments.
  • Knowledge of Linux.
  • Experience with Ansible.
  • Experience using infrastructure APIs.
