A university lecturer is sought within a knowledge center, part of a faculty of military sciences, to strengthen research and education in the field of data science and artificial intelligence (AI). The goal is to develop scientific knowledge that contributes to military decision-making and to teach future officers to use data and AI effectively and responsibly. You will bring expertise in data science and AI and connect it to issues from military practice.
You will contribute to the development of education and research, including the establishment of a new bachelor's program.
What you will do.
- Conduct scientific research and share results:
- Develop research plans and proposals within data science and AI expertise, aligning with research goals and relevant issues.
- Independently conduct scientific research, collect and analyze data, and coordinate with colleagues and collaboration partners.
- Share research results through scientific publications and presentations, and translate relevant insights into education.
- Provide education and guide students:
- Prepare and provide scientific education for various target groups, connecting theory and research results to military context issues.
- Help students achieve defined learning objectives, monitor their progress, and coach them in their learning process.
- Supervise and co-assess internships, graduation assignments, and theses.
- Develop and evaluate education:
- Develop and renew educational components, teaching materials, and study assignments.
- Coordinate the development of new education and align content with colleagues.
- Follow developments in the field, evaluate education with students and colleagues, and use the outcomes to improve education.
Profile
- Knowledge and education:
- Completed academic education and a doctorate in a relevant field, such as computer science, econometrics, mathematics, or data science and AI.
- Demonstrable didactic competence and/or training.
- Basic Teaching Qualification (BKO), supplemented with modules in the field of scientific education development or leading educational innovation.
- Experience:
- Experience in providing higher education and in developing teaching materials and/or participating in educational innovation projects.
- Demonstrable research experience, visible in scientific publications of recognized quality.
- Competencies:
- Strong analytical skills and ability to explain complex subjects clearly and convincingly.
- Collaborative and attentive to different perspectives and needs.
- Engaged and sensitive in guiding students.
- Understanding of the working environment and developing a vision on the contribution of your field to education, research, and military issues.
