What you will do. As a Cyber Security Architect, you translate operational needs into future-proof architectures, monitor the technical coherence of cybersecurity solutions, and advise management on strategic choices in architecture, technology, and innovation. You are responsible for developing, monitoring, and aligning integral solution architectures for the cybersecurity capabilities of a specialized cybersecurity unit.
You ensure that architectural choices align with operational needs, organization-wide architectural frameworks, and future developments within the cyber domain.
Your tasks include:
- developing and maintaining integral solution architectures for cybersecurity capabilities
- translating operational needs into technical solution directions and architectural principles
- testing designs and technical solutions against architectural frameworks, security requirements, and organization-wide guidelines
- monitoring the coherence between systems, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity services
- guiding development and implementation processes from an architectural perspective
- performing architecture reviews and impact analyses
- aligning architectural choices with internal and external stakeholders
- identifying and translating technological developments into opportunities and risks for the organization
- advising management and governance bodies on architectural choices, investments, and technological developments
You are an important sparring partner for management, architects, engineers, and operational teams and actively contribute to the further development of the organization's cybersecurity capabilities.
What they ask
- HBO or higher working and thinking level, if necessary verifiable through an assessment
- Completed HBO education in Informatics, Cyber Security
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Solution Architect, Security Architect, or similar role within complex IT or cybersecurity environments
- Experience with architecture development within large organizations
- Experience with cybersecurity and information security issues
Preferences.
- Completed scientific education (master's) in Informatics, Cyber Security
- Relevant certification in information security and architecture, such as CISSP, CISM, TOGAF
- SAFe certification
- Experience within government organizations or other large public organizations
- Experience with architecture within Security Operations Centers or cybersecurity organizations

- Insight into the coherence between operational detection and response processes, cybersecurity services, and supporting IT facilities
- Insight into the effects of architectural choices on security, continuity, manageability, and operational deployability
- Skilled in guiding and evaluating complex solution designs
- Skilled in analyzing technical issues with multiple dependencies and interests
- Skilled in drafting architectural advice, impact analyses, and decision-making documents
- Skilled in convincingly presenting and defending architectural choices to management, architecture boards
- Excellent communication skills in word and writing, both in Dutch and English
