What you will do.
- Reading and editing texts: from light editing (spelling and grammar) to heavier editing (rewriting texts, contributing ideas on text structure and argumentation, formulating subheadings).
- Diverse text types: advisory reports (emphasis), summaries, website texts, blogs/columns, opinion pieces.
- Checking and improving spelling, formatting, and style errors.
- Making structural changes to texts or translating summaries to B1 level.
- Involvement in the final concepts of products.
- Participating in briefings per assignment to receive more information about the product's context (reason, goal, target audience) and editing wishes.
- Applying different advisory styles, sensing what the project leader and the advisory report need.
- Collaborating with one of the advisors from the committee and a colleague from the communication team.
- Delivering a clean version and a version with visible changes for each assignment.
Profile
- Affinity with knowledge-intensive, advisory texts from advisory councils, planning agencies, or knowledge institutions.
- Enjoy bringing nuanced and/or complex messages to light.
- Affinity with the domain of healthcare, welfare, and society.
What they ask
- Minimum university level of work and thinking.
- Knowledge of language levels from A1 to C2 and demonstrable experience with applying B1 language level.
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrable work experience with editing Dutch texts.
Preferences.
- Experience with editing texts from advisory councils, planning agencies, knowledge institutions, research organizations, or similar organizations.
- Experience with editing text forms such as blogs, columns, opinion pieces, and website content.
- Possess the required competencies and skills.
