Information Security Officer

What you do

  • As an Information Security Officer (ISO), you work in the Cyber department within the IT & Innovation directorate, part of a support command.
  • Together with a new and growing team of ISOs and cyber specialists, you perform risk and impact analyses on information and OT (operational technology) systems within the organization.
  • You are co-responsible for the information security of these systems and report on this to the Head of Cyber.
  • In the event of security incidents, you coordinate and monitor progress and resolution, in close consultation with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • When there are no acute incidents, you focus on developing and professionalizing ISO activities.
  • You advise on information security and cyber technology and contribute to the establishment and compliance with security policy.
  • You play a crucial role in the cyber resilience of the organization and thus of the national armed forces.
  • In this role, you actively build and maintain a broad network of cyber and security professionals, both within and outside the organization.

What they ask

  • You have an HBO diploma (higher professional education), preferably in cybersecurity, computer science, Business IT & Management, or integral security.
  • You have demonstrable experience in performing risk analyses and applying security standards such as BIO and ISO 27001/27002.
  • You have knowledge of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (2.0), for both IT and OT.
  • You have excellent command of the Dutch language (CEFR C1).
  • You have good command of the English language, both written and spoken (CEFR B2).

Desired.

  • You have a relevant certification (CISSP, CISA, CRISC, CISM or similar), or are willing to obtain one.
  • You have several years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience within the national government is a plus.
