Green Special Enforcement Officer (domain 2)
A socially engaged nature conservation organization is dedicated to preserving nature and cultural heritage. As a Green Special Enforcement Officer, you are the face of the organization in nature. You are an ambassador for visitors and convey the organization's values. You monitor compliance with laws and regulations. You address people regarding undesirable behavior and take corrective or verbal action where necessary.
You can be deployed in various nature areas, including outside the organization's own areas through collaborations. You will be part of a district team, with a fixed base in a water and reed landscape. You have a high degree of freedom and responsibility in the field, determining your own priorities and approach within the supervision and enforcement policy. You coordinate your planning with the district head and colleagues. Special Enforcement Officers carry weapons; training for this is offered after employment.
What you do
- Informing recreational users on land and water about nature areas and applicable rules
- Addressing people about undesirable behavior and, if necessary, taking corrective or verbal action (in accordance with Domain 2)
- Patrolling with enforcement partners on the surveillance boat and ensuring basic maintenance of the boat
- Supervising permits, processing official reports, and assisting with the maintenance of signage in the field

- Open and approachable person with good communication skills
- Aware of the ambassadorial role and enjoys interacting with people
- Able to adapt and make a point when necessary
- Stress-resistant and able to maintain overview and calm, even in complex situations
- Likes things to be in order and works in a structured manner
- Above-average interest in flora and fauna
What they ask
- MBO-4 working and thinking level (e.g., MBO Supervisor/Executor forest and nature management or Enforcement, with an affinity for green/environment)
- Investigative authority (Special Enforcement Officer Domain 2) or willingness to obtain it
- Driving license B/E (willingness to obtain E)
- Boating license 1 and 2, or willingness to obtain it
- Knowledge of flora and fauna and relevant laws and regulations
- Preferably experience in a similar position
- Knowledge of, and experience with Office 365
- Understanding and speaking Frisian is preferred; German and English are a plus
