Supportive Living Counselor
You want to make a difference in the daily lives of people struggling with psychological vulnerability. They are looking for a way to shape their own lives. You provide support in this. You do this together with colleagues you can rely on and other people involved in the clients' lives. A team offers sheltered living to a number of people and remote support to others. Each client has their own apartment, with a common room and shared kitchen available.
You will work at a sheltered living facility where clients reside in a 24-hour living setting. Together with a Living Counselor colleague and a Professional Team Supporter, you are responsible for the results and quality of the support.
What you do
- Provide support for daily practical tasks, such as maintaining the living environment and (financial) administration.
- Work irregular shifts (late, early, and weekend shifts), including sleep shifts.
- Accompany clients to various appointments, such as therapists, workplaces, and family.
- Administer medication.
- Occasionally perform supportive actions in the field of Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
- Collaborate with professionals from other involved care parties, such as treatment organizations.
- Guide group support sessions.
- Play a signaling role and conduct various supportive conversations.

- You are empathetic and committed, but able to bear the suffering of others.
- You always look at what is possible and seek opportunities.
- You build and maintain trust, which is important when supporting people whose lives have been disrupted.
- A client's request for help is always the starting point of your support.
- You are able to offer what contributes to a unique recovery process.
- Good ability to collaborate and coordinate with colleagues, people in the client's environment, and professionals from other organizations.
- Patience and perseverance.
What they ask
- MBO-3 diploma in healthcare, preferably Social Care Specific Target Groups level 3 or 4 or Agogic Worker Mental Healthcare level 4.
- Practical experience with people with psychological vulnerability.
- Easily works with technical communication tools and programs.
- Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG).
