Civil Affairs Consultant

The Civil Affairs department is the calling card of a government organization. The initial customer contact usually begins with a consultant from this department. The Civil Affairs Consultant is responsible for the correct registration and maintenance of all Civil Status processes.
What you will do.
- Provide information and advice on name choice, parental authority, adoption, judicial establishment of paternity, surname change, first name change, registration of deeds in The Hague, marriage/registered partnership, conversion of a registered partnership into marriage, divorce procedure, obtaining, granting, determining, and losing Dutch nationality.
- Process and handle applications for notification of marriage or registered partnership, conversion of a registered partnership into marriage, processing requests for naturalization and option.
- Receive, process, and verify (foreign) documents related to marriage or registered partnership, naturalization, and option.
- Investigate marital capacity.
- Determine nationality-related consequences associated with birth and descent, based on nationality legislation.
- Issue permits/deferrals/expeditions for burial.
- Take sworn statements.
- Process requests for name changes.
- Create deeds and declarations of marital capacity.
- Public Prosecutor's letters for deed correction.
- Draft deeds and subsequent entries.
- IND investigation regarding foreign source documents.
- Research and add nationality for the BRP.
- Copies and extracts from the civil status registers.
- Use of name.
- Renunciation of Dutch nationality.

What they ask
- Demonstrable MBO work and thinking level on CV.
- At least a completed vocational training (theory and practical exam) in Civil Affairs B1a + B1b.
- At least 3 years of all-round work experience as a Civil Status Consultant in the past 5 years.
- At least 2 years of work experience with Key2Burgerzaken from Centric, gained in the past 5 years.
Preferences.
- Completed additional course in international private law.
- Work experience handling naturalization applications in the past 3 years.
- Work experience in Civil Status.
