As a Support Worker, you assist people with an intellectual disability in their daily lives. You help clients to be as independent as possible, provide structure where necessary, and together with your colleagues, ensure a safe, pleasant, and familiar living environment. You work with a dedicated team and can always rely on experienced colleagues. The target group consists of people with challenging behavior and an intellectual disability. This group requires calm, clarity, humor, and a big heart.
Sometimes there is verbal or non-verbal aggression. By observing carefully, responding to the client's needs, and collaborating, you make a difference every day.
What you will do.
- Guide clients in their daily activities
- Assist with personal care where needed
- Encourage clients to live as independently as possible
- Create a pleasant atmosphere where clients feel safe and seen
- Signal changes and discuss them with your colleagues
- Collaborate with family, relatives, and other care professionals
- Contribute to a pleasant and clean home for the clients
Profile
- MBO level 3 Care & Welfare diploma (or a comparable education) OR nearing completion of your education
- Attentive and patient with people
- Enjoys teamwork
- Takes initiative and sees opportunities
- Is resilient and stands firm
- Brings humor and enjoys creating beautiful moments
- Experience in disability care is a plus, but not essential
