Association Consultant
A professional association for European affairs is looking for a hands-on consultant to support the day-to-day delivery of its membership, communications, public affairs, and events programme. This is a part-time consulting engagement structured around agreed deliverables and statements of work. The consultant will be the association's main operational point of contact for members and will work closely with the President, Board, and members.
The role is suited to someone who is organised, proactive, and comfortable moving between member engagement, content creation, event delivery, and association administration. The consultant will support the implementation of priorities agreed by the Board.
What you do
- Build regular and constructive contact with members, respond to enquiries, support onboarding, gather feedback, and identify opportunities to improve participation, retention, and the overall member experience.
- Drive the association’s day-to-day communications, including member updates, newsletters, website content, social media, event promotion, and other materials that keep members informed and strengthen the association’s visibility.
- Support the association’s work on issues relevant to the public affairs profession by monitoring developments, preparing briefing materials, supporting consultations and position papers, coordinating stakeholder engagement, and following up on agreed actions.
- Plan and deliver webinars and panel events, networking events, and other member activities, including programme coordination, speaker liaison, invitations, registrations, logistics, communications, and post-event follow-up.
- Support the smooth running of the association through inbox and database management, Board meeting preparation, minutes and action tracking, membership records, invoicing follow-up, and coordination with relevant service providers.
- Prepare the material for the Annual General Assembly, including annual budget, annual accounts; coordinate the year-end financial reporting process, review the association's statutes and ensure compliance with Belgian legal requirements, manage statutory updates and publications in the Belgian Official Gazette and UBO register, maintain and update the EU Transparency Register.
- Maintain a clear workplan and manage agreed deadlines with the Board.
