LVB Support Worker
You support adults with a mild intellectual disability (MID) to live as independently as possible. You provide structure and clarity, but do not simply take over. Experiencing, trying, and sometimes making mistakes are part of life. The support focuses on independence, self-direction, and skill development. You work in a small team with short lines of communication that is currently being rebuilt. You actively contribute to collaboration, work agreements, and the further development of the location.
What you will do.
- Encourages residents to make their own choices and do things themselves as much as possible.
- Provides calm, structure, and clarity when needed.
- Helps residents develop skills that increase their independence.
- Identifies changes in behavior, health, and well-being and takes action accordingly.
- Collaborates with colleagues and the resident's network based on a clear support line.
- Guides residents in their daily lives, social contacts, and practical skills.
- Motivates without pushing and helps without automatically taking over.
- Reports carefully in the electronic client file (ECF) and works according to established support agreements.
Profile
- Calm, positive, and stable, so residents know what to expect from you.
- Can work independently and stands firm, even when a situation unfolds differently than expected.
- Completed MBO level 3 education in Care & Welfare, MMZ, or a comparable qualification.
- Affinity with MID and preferably experience within disability care or individual residential support.
- Can provide structure while simultaneously encouraging residents to take their own initiative.
- Communicates openly, reports carefully in the ECF, and can work according to support agreements.
- Wants to build a new, stable team with colleagues.
- Experience with medication and aggression regulation is a plus.
- Actively contributes ideas on how to further improve guidance and collaboration at the location.
Practical
- Primarily works evening shifts during the week.
- On Wednesdays and Fridays, there are also day shifts.
- On weekends, you work both day and evening shifts.
- Sleep shifts are also part of your schedule.
