Within a team focused on biodiversity, a temporary colleague is sought with species protection as their area of focus. You will fulfill an advisory role and work in a duo, together with a strategic policy advisor for nature legislation, to implement and further develop the regional approach with species management plans. The implementation of nature legislation is technically, legally, and administratively complex.
Nature legislation is still very much in flux and is, due to the interests involved, strongly in the political and administrative spotlight, both at national and regional levels. The legislation affects many societal challenges, and you explicitly seek connection with other regional challenges, such as agrofood, energy transition, environmental and water policy, mobility, spatial planning, and economy.
You apply your knowledge, experience, and creativity to solve potential bottlenecks and also play an important signaling role in this. You are decisive and capable of thinking in new solutions.
What you do
- Processing acquired insights into integrated policy advice for the strategic policy officer for Nature Legislation
- Integrally preparing policy or implementation decisions for the administration
- Ensuring proper implementation of nature legislation together with the strategic policy officer for Nature Legislation, colleagues from the environmental service, adjacent policy areas, and external parties
- Signaling and translating external developments and timely anticipating changes in nature legislation within integrated challenges
- Identifying risks and effects of choices that need to be made regarding technical content and implementation risks, and relating this to legal and financial risks for the organization
- Acting as a representative in consultations with other regional authorities or stakeholders, bringing in the regional interest, risks, and effects for implementation practice
Profile
You are able to comprehend complex substantive, legal, and implementation-oriented issues and translate them into clear, integrated advice. In doing so, you look beyond just the interest of nature and connect with other societal and regional challenges. You can advise independently and at the same time know when coordination with colleagues, municipalities, environmental services, and other involved parties is necessary.
You understand that species protection takes place in an administrative and societal force field with various interests and can operate carefully and result-oriented. For this assignment, we are looking for an experienced advisor in nature legislation and species protection who can quickly be deployed independently within the field.
