As a physician in the Objection and Appeal department, you will work with fellow physicians, occupational experts, and legal professionals within a results-oriented team. The first year will largely focus on the internal basic training in insurance medicine. You will work under the supervision of an occupational health specialist. Time is allocated for clients to reach a well-considered judgment.
This first year also offers room to further develop your advisory and communication skills and the ability to motivate decisions. After successfully completing the basic training, it will be jointly determined whether the training to become an occupational health specialist will be continued. The work-life balance is good; you work during regular office hours, and partial remote work is possible.
What you will do. As a physician, you are responsible for re-evaluating the assessment in which the physician in the primary process has expressed their view on the client's capacity for work and for handling medical aspects of objection cases and (higher) appeal cases within the relevant legislation and jurisprudence, taking into account the social context. This includes, among other things, that you:
- Determine the medical condition, weigh various factors, and provide reasoned arguments on whether the capacity for work has been correctly established
- Provide a re-evaluation of the medical aspects of the primary decision for objection, appeal, and higher appeal cases
- Provide feedback/advice to the physicians in the primary process to improve the quality of decisions
- Are responsible for the medical part of the decision-making under the supervision of the occupational health specialist of the Objection and Appeal department
