Stretcher bearer mobile team

The mobile team offers a varied and challenging work environment within a healthcare institution. You will be deployed in all possible hospitalization departments, such as surgery, internal medicine, orthopedics, geriatrics, oncology-hematology, gastroenterology, and neurology. The team consists of nurses, care assistants, and logistics staff. These employees are deployed daily in various hospitalization departments to manage workload or ensure immediate replacement.

You will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge in different domains, take on diverse responsibilities, access innovative techniques, work in multidisciplinary teams, and transfer your knowledge to younger colleagues.

What you do

Your main task involves the transport and installation of patients, in compliance with safety and hygiene regulations.

  • Check patient identity before transfer.
  • Choose, adapt, or check the appropriate means of transport (wheelchair, stretcher, bed) depending on the patient's physical condition and the actions to be performed or avoided.
  • Manage the medical file and, if necessary, the patient's personal belongings.
  • Continuously observe the patient's general condition during transport and, if necessary, follow the appropriate procedures or provide first aid.
  • Update the patient file by registering transfer information to ensure traceability.
  • Ensure hygiene and safety by disinfecting equipment after each use and at the end of the shift.

  • Experience in a hospital environment as a stretcher bearer and knowledge of the equipment used for patient transport is desired.
  • Following training in patient transfer is a plus.
  • Possession of the European First Aid Certificate (BEPS) is a plus.
  • Experience as a logistics employee is an asset.
  • Experience in a hospital is a plus.
  • Bilingualism (NL/FR), any other language is a significant advantage.
  • Openness to issues related to cultural diversity in a hospital environment.

Practical

  • Full-time fixed-term contract (6 months, possible extension).
  • Remuneration according to scale (IFIC Category 8) with recognition of your relevant seniority.
