As a Project Manager at a civil engineering company, you will lead prominent infrastructural projects that contribute to the energy transition, sustainable mobility, and a safe living environment. You will be the connecting link between clients, execution teams, construction partners, and stakeholders. You will work on challenging projects within infrastructure and civil concrete construction, from design to delivery, continuously monitoring planning, budget, quality, and integral safety.
You will play an important role as a key functionary in tenders and construction teams.
What you do
- Lead infrastructural projects.
- Monitor planning, budget, quality, and integral safety.
- Convincingly convey approach, vision, and added value in dialogue discussions, presentations, and client meetings.
- Responsible for project realization and representing the organization in the acquisition and collaboration with clients.
- Drive integral safety, sustainability, and the organization's mission, vision, and strategy.
- Actively respond to the wishes of various public clients.
- Ensure project teams function effectively for the construction of energy distribution stations, mast foundations, tunnels, bridges, viaducts, ecoducts, or the laying of waste and drinking water pipelines.
- Ultimately responsible for project results and successful delivery to a satisfied client.
- Realize project objectives and act proactively and adequately to achieve these objectives.
- Focus on project and process-oriented work and pay close attention to building and maintaining client relationships.
- Provide direction in the tender and construction team phase, contribute ideas for winning approaches, clearly identify risks and opportunities.
- Convincingly translate strategy into a clear story for the client.
- Create trust, convince on content, and shape collaboration from the first contact.
- Responsible for financial project control, integral safety, process monitoring, contract management, and required project quality.
- Optimally fulfill client demand.
- Timely, complete, and reliable preparation (or having prepared) of reports and forecasts, and informing management thereof.
What they ask
- HBO or University degree in Civil Engineering or Industrial Engineering, or a degree deemed suitable for this position.
- Experience as a project manager or at least 5 years of work experience as a project leader or technical manager on civil, integral projects.
- Experience in realizing projects within civil concrete construction and/or road construction.
- Experience with or demonstrable affinity for tenders, construction teams, and dialogue-oriented procurement.
- Comfortable in the role of key functionary and able to inspire confidence in clients during discussions, presentations, and construction team meetings.
- Experience working for various public clients.
- Knowledge and experience with working in a construction team context.
- Familiar with contract forms such as UAV, UAV-GC, and STABU.
- Knowledge of Best Value Procurement is a plus.
