Education Liaison
A department within a university institution combines internationally high-level research with quality education and community service. Professors and lecturers provide education within various study programs and guide students in classes, internships, and research projects. To optimally support these educational assignments, the department is looking for an education liaison. In this role, you will be the connecting link between the department and the faculty.
You ensure that education-related information reaches lecturers in a targeted and accessible manner, and you support them with questions and administrative processes.
What you will do.
- You will be the link between the lecturers of a department and the faculty, with the Education Expertise Centre as an important point of contact.
- You will be the point of contact for lecturers regarding education-related questions and problems. You provide appropriate advice yourself and/or refer to education experts. This may concern developing exam and evaluation methods, applying new educational technologies, developing and improving presentations and other educational materials, organizing and administering laboratories, student researchers, master's theses, and digital learning environments.
- You proactively collect all education-related information and process it into targeted and accessible communications for lecturers.
- You also support non-curricular educational projects and initiatives in which the department is involved.
- You evaluate the educational processes of our lecturers, define and identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement on an educational (non-content) level, and proactively propose solutions and optimizations.
- You monitor the educational processes within the department, collect relevant data for internal reporting, and support the departmental manager in mapping out educational efforts within the framework of policy.
- Together with administrative, financial, and HR colleagues, you form the team that provides support to the department and is managed by the departmental manager. You may also be deployed for other departmental support tasks.
Profile
- Preferably a bachelor's degree in an educational field or equivalent through relevant experience.
- Ideally, a strong background and interest in (biomedical) sciences or related fields.
- Preferably familiar with working in a university context.
- Experience in education or training support is an added value.
- Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
- Independent, proactive, and takes initiative, combined with a strong team spirit.
- Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and respect deadlines.
- Strong communicator and enjoys collaborating with various stakeholders.
- Able to inspire and motivate people in an appreciative way.
- Works accurately and organized with an eye for quality.
- Quickly learns new digital applications and administrative systems.
Practical
- The position can start at grade 4 or 5, depending on immediate deployability and any training trajectories.
