As a Functional Advisor Development, you operate at the strategic intersection of healthcare, healthcare financing, and technology. You guide the development of a specific EMR system and the broader digital healthcare landscape within a healthcare organization. You play a leading role in innovation, proactively identify opportunities for renewal, and translate complex issues into future-proof solutions.
You understand the coherence between processes, systems, data, linkages, and financing, and oversee the impact of choices within the EMR. You direct the functional elaboration, ensure that solutions are designed logically, scalably, and coherently, and contribute to the setup, functionality, testing phase, and commissioning. In doing so, you safeguard architectural principles, risk management, and IT General Controls from the design phase.
What you will do.
- Provide substantive direction for the development and continuous improvement of the EMR system, connecting people and expertise to ensure the team works towards solutions that contribute to administration-free care and a financially healthy organization.
- Proactively identify, create, and seize opportunities for renewal, transforming them into concrete developments with demonstrable value and impact, together with the team and the Product Owner.
- Actively follow national developments, innovations within the EMR, and new technological possibilities, including AI, and translate these into opportunities for the organization.
- Maintain substantive connection with the software vendor, other suppliers, and relevant external networks.
- Thoroughly understand complex functional issues and oversee how developments and choices within the EMR impact processes, systems, data, linkages, and finances.
- Provide substantive direction for functional designs, setup, and configuration, ensuring solutions are managed, scalable, and future-proof by design.
- Implement functional changes within your mandate and take a leading role in the elaboration and decision-making for changes outside your mandate.
- Manage new releases, ensuring changes are well-prepared, tested, implemented, and put into controlled use.
- Ensure that architectural principles, control, and relevant IT General Controls are an integral part of development and implementation from the design.
- Stimulate substantive rigor, knowledge development, and collaboration within the team, and actively contribute to the development of functional administrators and key users.
- Be hands-on involved in the realization: from functional elaboration and setup to functional, chain, and acceptance testing, and commissioning.
- Drive implementation, adoption, and actual use of new functionality to achieve the intended value and impact.

- Combines in-depth knowledge of the EMR system (preferably financial modules) and healthcare financing with execution power, successfully translating complex issues from vision to working solution.
- Effortlessly switches between strategy and realization: from analysis and design to setup, testing, implementation, and adoption.
- Clear vision on the contribution of technology, digitalization, and AI to administration-free care and a financially healthy healthcare organization.
- Extensive experience with complex development and transformation projects, taking a leading role in structure, focus, and progress.
- Analytical, innovative, and entrepreneurial. Sees opportunities where others see challenges, thinks outside existing frameworks, and dares to explore new solution directions.
- Oversees the coherence between care processes, care financing, technology, data, and information provision.
- Extensive experience as an EMR consultant, Senior Functional Administrator of an EMR system, or in a comparable senior role within a complex healthcare or IT environment.
- Possesses in-depth knowledge of the EMR system, preferably its financial modules, and is accustomed to guiding setup, development, and continuous improvement from their expertise.
- Extensive experience with functional analysis, setup, testing, release processes, implementation, and user adoption.
- Understands the importance of architecture and control by design, and has knowledge of architectural principles, IT General Controls, change management, authorizations, and segregation of duties.
