Youth Protector

This role in youth protection focuses on families with children with an (intellectual) disability or chronic illness, and children of parents with a disability. You will strengthen a team in a specific region.

What you will do.

  • You will have a crucial coordinating role in collaborating with families, chain partners, and other important stakeholders.
  • You will monitor whether the situation remains stable or improves. If it deteriorates, you will intervene to ensure children can always grow up as safely as possible.
  • Guide and direct: You are attentive to what families need, conduct firm conversations, and provide clear guidance. Complex issues and challenging cases are more the rule than the exception.
  • Collaborate: You frequently liaise with colleagues and chain partners such as government agencies, judicial organizations, and educational institutions. Together, you ensure an effective approach and that everyone contributes optimally from their role.

Profile

  • A completed Bachelor's degree, such as Social Work, MWD, or Pedagogy.
  • Registration in the SKJ register.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with families and/or youth (experience in another field with complex issues is a plus).
  • Energy, courage, and perseverance: You are not deterred by challenging situations and derive satisfaction from achieving small results, even in difficult circumstances.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written: You can conduct firm conversations, connect at the right moments, and are able to write clear petitions and other documents.

  • The team is characterized by cohesion and is growing.
  • You will collaborate with colleagues, brainstorm, and support each other on casework.
  • Continuous attention is paid to quality development, including training at cluster and team level.
  • Once every two weeks, the core team is in the office for casework discussions, as well as team and work meetings.
  • During the initial period, you will be guided by an onboarding mentor and a practice coach.
  • You will be given time to get acquainted and observe colleagues, after which you will function independently after approximately 9-12 months.
